Here at IronCraft, we have a wealth of experience providing custom gates and railings for a wide range of clients and requirements. In this case, our client wanted to secure the entrance to a community of 5 houses, each of which were barn conversion style properties.
Although we have been manufacturing wrought iron gates and railings to traditional Victorian-era standards since 1965, that doesn’t mean we can’t provide modern gates and railings where needed!
In this case, due to the style of the homes and appearance of the street, the secure entrance needed to be sympathetic to the design of the houses.
After some discussion with the residents, we suggested a farm style gate for the traditional barn aspect, but painted in a modern colour to lend the gates a contemporary feel.
Once the design was finalised, we organised a site meeting with 3 of the residents in order to discuss the unique community needs and requirements when it came to security.
It was decided following this meeting that adding a pedestrian gate would be the best solution; allowing access to occasional visitors and deliveries, while still maintaining the security of the vehicle entrance.
Regular users would be able to gain access through remote controls and a GSM opening from a mobile phone number.
Two further site visits were then carried out to run through all the final options and positioning of the gate. Once all were satisfied with design, security, and positioning, IronCraft carried out all works on this project, including the supplying of power.
The result is a clean and stylish contemporary gate which provides enhanced security for the residents and perfectly complements their community.
