Meet the team – our installation staff

In this blog series, we are celebrating our talented team members. Every person at Ironcraft is committed to ensuring that our products are of the highest quality – from design through to manufacture and installation.

Since our founding, Ironcraft has remained in the Ayre family and grown to become a well-respected, local company that produces a huge variety of wrought iron products.

With over 150 years of experience among us, we believe our success is down to the personal attention given to each and every one of our customers, and our dedication to creating high-quality products.

Despite our growth, we have retained the small family feel and excellent service that is often missing when dealing with larger companies.

Next up, let us introduce you to the Ironcraft installation staff!

Our installation staff have a wealth of experience in manufacturing and work in the yard, where they deal with fettling, spraying, welding, fitting and engineering.

A lot of our team have been with us for many years. Such experience provides Ironcraft with a unique and hugely skilled team that can turn their hands to many different and complex projects for our customers.

Dean has been with us since 1997 – he started as a 16-year-old whippersnapper straight from school! Working as a fitter under the guidance of the director, he's worked his way through the ranks and is now our installation manager and chief engineer.

Dean has trained numerous people in the art of installation. There is nothing he can’t tackle, and he is hugely important to our younger and less experienced staff members for mentorship and direction.

Dean also has a vast knowledge of gate automation – he is able to assess a customer’s needs and provide a safe, complete and professional installation.

He has proven himself not only very popular with us, but with our customers too!

Wayne has been with us since 2008. He started in the yard galvanizing, fettling and spraying the ironwork – and about five years into his time with us, he turned his hand to fitting.

He worked for several years with Dean and has trained up to become one of our skilled automation engineers. Wayne now runs his own team and works both with our private and commercial customers.

As a true professional, Wayne always has a smile on his face – even when going out in -4 degrees in the winter!

Gary started with us in 2007 and is one of our highly skilled welders. He is well versed in a whole range of tasks – including our complex and bespoke products, which have become increasingly popular in recent times!

Gary has seen the changing trends of projects over the years – a challenge he is keen to tackle with relish!
